How payments work
Deposits, full payments, and Stripe setup.
BookBetter uses Stripe to process payments. Here's how it works:
Setting up Stripe — In Settings → Payments, connect your Stripe account. This takes about 5 minutes. All payments go directly to your Stripe account — BookBetter never holds your money.
Payment options per service (Growth and Business plans): - Deposit at booking — Client pays a flat amount or percentage upfront. Collect the rest in person. - Full payment at booking — Client pays the full price when they book. - No online payment — Client pays when they show up.
Stripe fees — Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction. BookBetter does not take a marketplace-style commission on your bookings.
Requesting payment after booking — If a client booked without paying, you can generate and send a payment link directly from the appointment in your dashboard. Copy it or share it via the share button (opens text/WhatsApp on mobile).
Refunds — Click "Issue Refund" on any paid appointment in your dashboard. The full amount is returned to the client's original payment method. Refunds typically appear in 5–10 business days.
